A little about me
Location
Melbourne, Australia
With a career spanning 25+ years, I help organisations navigate the complexity of product development with clarity, warmth, and cross-cultural insight. I've designed multiple-award-winning digital products, grounded in the belief that design is not just about beautiful pixels (as great as they are) but about solving the challenges faced by individuals, organisations, and our planet. I know that the best software does this by design—quietly, subtly, without fanfare.
Leadership by doing
I specialise in the "messy middle" of product creation. I thrive in the unknown—it's not a threat, but the raw material for innovation. I am a 'full-stack' designer who believes the gap between a Figma file and a production build should be as thin as possible. I lean into AI-augmented development and modern build tools to move fast. If a janky transition or a spacing glitch makes it to the live site, I’d rather jump into the code and fix it than file a ticket for the next sprint cycle. But I don’t just deliver user interfaces; I translate abstract business requirements and human needs into validated, holistic product experiences. I'm as comfortable defining a hypothesis and running a lean UX research cycle as I am crafting high-fidelity interaction patterns. My value lies in practical leadership—in the synthesis of strategy and execution.
My expertise includes
Designing for AI & automation: Deep experience crafting conversational interfaces and AI-powered tools. I focus on integrating AI thoughtfully into design workflows, ensuring automation builds user trust rather than confusion.
Building considered software: Moving from ambiguity to clarity through discovery, hypothesis testing, and user research.
End-to-end execution: Proficiency in Figma and collaborative tools to deliver the full spectrum of the design process—from user flows, polished UI, and robust design systems, to valued, used, and loved products.
Mentorship & influence: Uplifting the capabilities of the teams I work alongside through collaboration and example, rather than heavy-handed management.
What's my current focus?
From 2026, I am offering Fractional Principal Design services. This allows teams to access senior-level expertise on a flexible, part-time basis (hybrid/remote). I partner with purpose-driven teams who need a "doer" capable of thinking strategically.
